What the House Is Backing This Week

September 3, 2026

Every week, the Housebets team picks the best bets across sports – football, basketball, UFC, tennis and more. Backed by crypto, no KYC, instant payouts.

It is the weekend, and we could not be happier, as it means we are back with Housebets Picks of the Week for the weekend games across Europe’s domestic leagues. Last weekend saw us get four out of five predictions correct, with only our pick for Alaves against Villarreal denying us a perfect score.

Nonetheless, we will try to go for a perfect score this week with our picks, as we predict some of the games in Europe’s biggest leagues this weekend. There are some huge clashes this weekend, including Arsenal vs Chelsea in the Premier League and Juventus vs AC Milan in Serie A.

Remember, you can all place your bets on all of these games at Housebets. To place your bets on this weekend's football games, log in to your account (or create one if you don't already have one), deposit your preferred cryptocurrency, then go to the sports section to bet on these games and our picks.

With that said, here are our picks for this weekend.

LaLiga: Real Betis vs Real Madrid

Our Pick: Over 2.5 goals

Real Betis host Real Madrid at La Cartuja in a LaLiga clash on Friday night, with the hosts looking to get their third win of the season. Betis have had a rollercoaster start to the campaign, but Manuel Pellegrini should still be satisfied with his team’s performance so far.

Los Verdiblancos are looking to build on their fifth-place finish last season, which earned them Champions League football this campaign, starting with their clash against Lille in France on Tuesday.

They started their campaign with a 1-0 win at home against Real Sociedad before beating Valencia at the Mestalla by the same scoreline. However, Pellegrini’s men suffered a reality check last weekend as they were thrashed 5-2 by Levante.

That result had been coming, as they had laboured in their first two games of the season, despite winning those matches. Nonetheless, it is now time for Betis to respond, and there is no better team to show that against than Real Madrid.

The home side should be confident in their chances of giving Madrid a game, as they are unbeaten in their last four home games against Los Blancos. However, while they do have a solid home record against the 15-time European champions in recent years, they are up against a Madrid side in fine form.

Madrid appear to be a team on a mission following a disappointing campaign last season, which brought a major change. The major change is the appointment of Jose Mourinho, who has started well in his second stint as Madrid manager.

Mourinho has overseen three league games so far, with Los Blancos winning all three by a combined aggregate score of 10-2. They come into this clash on the back of a 4-0 win over Malaga, having beaten Real Sociedad 4-1 a few days earlier.

However, Betis will provide a sterner test for Madrid, one which they must pass if they are to dethrone Barcelona as league champions. While the all-important El Clásico clashes are important in the title race, tricky clashes like the one against Betis are also equally vital.

The odds do favour Mourinho’s men, though, with the away side priced at 1.37 to win the game, according to odds from Housebets. However, this is not going to be an easy game, as the odds suggest, but it should be full of goals, which is why we are backing over 2.5 goals at 1.36.

Premier League: Ipswich Town vs Liverpool

Our Pick: Over 2.5 goals or Liverpool to win either half

Ipswich Town will be going for a major scalp when they welcome Liverpool to Portman Road Stadium on Friday night. It has been an up-and-down start for the Tractor Boys’ return to the Premier League, but they will be looking to make a statement on Friday.

Gary O’Neil’s men started their campaign with a 2-1 win over Sunderland but were given a harsh lesson in their second game of the season, losing 5-2 to Manchester United at Old Trafford.

It does not get easier for Ipswich, as Liverpool come to town on Friday night, looking to claim their first win of the season. However, despite Liverpool’s qualities, O’Neil’s men will be looking to cause an upset.

While it is okay to respect Liverpool, Ipswich should feel confident going into the clash, as Liverpool have been easy to play against in their opening two games of the season. The Reds are unbeaten in their first two games, but they are also winless, having conceded four times already.

Andoni Iraola is still struggling to settle down as Liverpool’s manager after watching his side’s performance in their first two games. The performances clearly show that the Reds have an unbalanced team, even with the arrival of Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain this week.

The Spanish tactician will have to find a way to get his underperforming fullbacks to start delivering the goods, while also finding a perfect midfield combination.

Although the Reds' play has actually been good in phases, their midfield remains a problem, as it has been easy to play through, which will give Ipswich confidence coming into the clash.

However, the odds do favour the Reds, as they are currently priced at 1.52 to win. While this is what we expect to happen, we expect Ipswich to make it a game because Liverpool have not been really convincing so far.

Considering they concede easily, we are backing over 2.5 goals, priced at 1.45, or Liverpool to win either half, priced at 1.25, as per odds from Housebets.

Ligue 1: PSG vs Monaco

Our Pick: Over 2.5 goals

It has been a far from ideal start for Paris Saint-Germain, but they will be looking to get their first league win of the season when they host Monaco on Friday night. PSG are known for their slow start, and this season is no different.

Luis Enrique’s men started their campaign with a 2-2 draw against Rennes before repeating the same trick against Lille last weekend. In these two games, PSG had to come from behind twice, showing their quality and resilience.

However, while that is impressive itself, Enrique’s men also need to start winning. Although they are still stronger than the rest of the league, PSG also need to start picking up maximum points, as they are already four points behind Friday’s opponents.

Ideally, Friday should be the start, as they have won their last two league openers at home and are unbeaten in their last four league games at home. Monaco will be difficult, though, with Les Monegasques unbeaten on their last two visits to Parc des Princes.

The Principality side have started brightly under new manager Filipe Luís and will be looking to make it three wins out of three. Monaco’s form in away matches have been impressive this year, only failing to pick up at least a point in two away games.

However, despite Monaco’s brilliant away form, they are the underdogs, as they are priced at 6.40 to win, while PSG are backed at 1.43. It is a difficult match to call, but it should also be full of goals, which is why we are backing over 2.5 goals at 1.41.

Bundesliga: Stuttgart vs Cologne

Our Pick: Stuttgart win

Stuttgart will be looking to bounce back when they welcome Cologne in their first home league game of the season. Die Roten started their campaign in disappointing fashion after they were thrashed 5-1 by Bayern Munich.

While losing to Bayern is not something to be ashamed of, the scoreline was a little bit embarrassing for Sebastian Hoeness. However, there is no reason for them to dwell on it, as Bayern will likely do the same to most teams in the league this season.

Stuttgart’s main focus should be winning games they are expected to win, with the game against Cologne falling into that category. This is Stuttgart’s first home league game of the season, and that should give them confidence, given they lost just three matches at and won 13 games at MHPArena last year.

They face a Cologne side that won their first game of the season, coming from behind twice to beat Hoffenheim 3-2. That should give the Bily Goats the confidence to approach this game, but their record against Stuttgart has not been great.

Cologne lost both meetings last season and have not beaten Die Roten in their last seven meetings, losing five in that time. It looks like that run will continue this weekend, as the odds favour Stuttgart at 1.54 to win the game, which is what we are backing.

Ligue 1: Lyon vs Auxerre

Our Pick: Lyon Win

Lyon host Auxerre at Groupama Stadium, looking to right the wrongs of their game against Le Havre. Paulo Fonseca could only manage a 1-1 draw in a game they were tipped to win easily.

It is not the end of the world, though, as they still have four points from two games after beating Toulouse away from home in their first league match of the season.

However, considering a top-three finish is the objective again this season, Lyon cannot afford to drop points against teams like Le Havre, especially at home. This makes the game against Auxerre a must-win, even though we are just two games into the new season.

That should not be a problem, anyway, as they are unbeaten in their last seven home games against Les Bleu et Blancs, beating them 3-2 in this fixture last season. Auxerre barely managed to survive relegation last season, and it looks like they are toying with the same situation this year.

Will Still’s men currently sit at the bottom of the table in this embryonic season after losing their first two matches. They started their campaign with a 5-2 defeat to Lens before losing 3-1 at home to Angers last week.

They remain the only team yet to win a point in Ligue 1 this season, and it looks like it will stay that way this weekend, as they have not won at Lyon since 2009. With all the omens pointing to an Auxerre loss, we are backing Lyon at 1.52 to win the game.
