Sinner is out. Alcaraz is back but hasn't played since April. Zverev has a 2026 major and is fully fit. Full US Open 2026 odds across both draws, four dark horse picks, and our best bets — place them at Housebets with crypto.
The 2026 US Open is here, and it promises to be another exciting two weeks of quality tennis for fans. The US Open is the final major of the year, and it always features the world's top tennis players.
This year’s tournament is no different, as top players in both the men’s and women’s categories will fight for the trophy. Aside from Jannik Sinner, who will miss out due to injury, all the best players will play in this year’s tournament.
As usual, the tournament kicks off with the qualifiers before the main draw, which you can place bets on at Housebets. Housebets remains the home of tennis betting, including the US Open, which kicks off on August 24 with the qualifiers. You can place bets on the men’s and women’s singles winners, even before the first ball is served.

The 2026 Open begins with qualifiers on August 24, with the main draw starting on August 30. The draw for the main event will be conducted on August 27, with all eyes on the men’s side.
With Sinner out, Alexander Zverev will be the top seed ahead of Carlos Alcaraz, who returns to the tour after a lengthy time off due to a wrist injury. Félix Auger-Aliassime is the third seed ahead of Novak Djokovic, who is seeking a record-breaking 25th Grand Slam title.
On the women’s side, Aryna Sabalenka is the top seed ahead of Elena Rybakina, Jessica Pegula and Coco Gauff, who recently won the Cincinnati Masters.
Carlos Alcaraz returns to the US Open to defend his title, but there are question marks surrounding his form. The Spaniard comes into the tournament lacking fitness, having not played since pulling out of his second-round match at the Barcelona Open.
The issue then turned out to be a wrist issue that forced Alcaraz to miss all events from May to August, including the French Open and Wimbledon. He has now chosen the US Open as the tournament for his return, but we are still not sure what to expect from Alcaraz.
Given that Alcaraz is coming from an extended break, it will be interesting to see how his body reacts to five-setters. In addition, he will also have to take things easy, considering he is returning from a wrist injury.
As for fitness, Alcaraz has already signed up for a mixed doubles partnership with Serena Williams to build up his form, although it remains to be seen if it will be a good strategy.
Having said that, Alcaraz is still the favourite to win the men’s singles title in New York, with the Spaniard priced at 2.30, according to odds from Housebets.
Although Alcaraz is the odds favourite to win in New York, both Zverev and Djokovic know that they will never have a better chance to win than this year.
With Sinner out and question marks surrounding Alcaraz’s fitness, this could indeed be the time for Zverev to win his first title at Flushing Meadows or Djokovic to end his long wait for a record-breaking 25th Grand Slam title.
Alcaraz and Sinner have dominated the slams in the last few years, but Zverev did win his first Grand Slam title this year. The German broke his major hoodoo this year with a victory at the French Open.
Zverev won Roland Garros without facing Alcaraz, who missed the tournament, and Sinner, who lost in the second round. Having finally broken that barrier, the top seed will fancy his chances at Flushing Meadows, knowing there is no Sinner and he will not have to face Alcaraz until the final, if the Spaniard makes it that far.
The German, who backed his French Open win with a run to the Wimbledon final (lost to Sinner), is currently the second favourite to win the men’s singles title in New York, priced at 3.75, according to odds from Housebets.
Zverev is not the only player with a realistic chance of winning, as there is also a certain player called Djokovic. In fact, it will not be a ridiculous thing to say Djokovic has a higher chance of winning than the German, even if the odds say otherwise.
Of all the players playing in this year’s tournament, no one has more US Open titles than Djokovic’s four. The Serb has found success in the past in New York and will be looking to roll back the years this time.
The only thing that works against Djokovic is his age. At 39, the former world No. 1 has lost the athletic ability that made him the most successful tennis player in history. Also, he has found it difficult to get past Alcaraz and Sinner, who have won almost all the majors since Djokovic won his last Grand Slam in 2023.
However, this might be Djokovic’s year to win his 25th major, especially with Sinner out and Alcaraz lacking match fitness. He is priced at 8.00 to win a fifth title in New York, which could be good value if he has the luck of the draw.
Men's Dark Horses: Fritz, Medvedev, Fils and Tiafoe
While Alcaraz, Zverev and Djokovic are favourites, it is also important to state that this is the most open US Open in recent years in the men’s singles category. The likes of Taylor Fritz, Daniil Medvedev, Arthur Fils and Frances Tiafoe will fancy their chances of taking advantage of any potential slip-up from the favourites.
Medvedev will feel confident going into this tournament, having won his only Grand Slam here in 2021. The Russian is, however, a long shot to win the title, priced at 26.00, according to Housebets.
Meanwhile, Fritz is one of the home hopefuls, with the American priced at 13.00, behind Ben Shelton, who is the American favourite at 8.50, according to Housebets. Other players who could make a run or cause an upset are Fils, who won the Cincinnati Masters, and Tiafoe, who lost to the Frenchman.
In the women’s singles category, all eyes will be on Sabalenka, who is looking to complete a three-peat. Sabalenka is a two-time defending champion, but she has had a below-par year by her standards.
The US Open is her last chance to win a Grand Slam this year, having only reached the Australian Open final. Sabalenka comes into this tournament as the world No. 1, but there are questions surrounding her form after losing in the round of 16 in Cincinnati.
She is still the favourite, though, with the Belarusian priced at 3.50 to complete a three-peat in New York. While Sabalenka is the favourite, the rest of the field are closely matched, although Iga Swiatek is the second favourite.
Swiatek, like Sabalenka, has also had a disappointing year, but the Pole did reach the Cincinnati semifinal, losing to Jessica Pegula. A former champion here, Swiatek is priced at 6.00 to win her sixth Grand Slam title.
Just behind Swiatek is Coco Gauff, who is priced at 7.00 to win the title. Gauff won the tournament in 2023 and will feel confident coming into this year’s competition after winning the Cincinnati Masters.
Although she has not had a good year at Grand Slams, the US Open is the perfect place for her to finally end her bad run. Meanwhile, Australian Open champion Elena Rybakina will also be looking to win her first title in Flushing Meadows.
Rybakina is priced at 8.00 to win ahead of two-time champion Naomi Osaka, who is priced at 11.00 to win her first Grand Slam title since becoming a mother.
