And we are back!!! Three months later, it is fair to say it is officially football betting season at Housebets, as the Premier League, Serie A, Ligue 1 and LaLiga all return this weekend.
While the 2026/2027 European season kicked off a few weeks ago, it is only right to say that a new campaign does not truly start until the big leagues start. Well, the wait is finally over, as the Premier League, Ligue 1 and Serie A all start this weekend, while the big boys in LaLiga play their first game of the new season, too.
Even Germany has German Cup games this weekend, although the Bundesliga does not start until next Friday. It is indeed a loaded weekend of football games, which you can also bet on at Housebets.
Remember, Housebets remains the home of football betting this new season. To place your bets on this weekend's football games, log in to your account (or create one if you don't already have one), deposit your preferred cryptocurrency, then go to the sports section to bet on these games and our picks.
With that said, here are our picks for this weekend.

Our Pick: Arsenal Win or over 2.5 goals
Arsenal start their title defence with a home clash against the newly promoted Coventry City on Friday night. The Gunners ended their 22-year wait for a Premier League title last season but are eager to successfully defend it this year.
Although Arsenal have won the Premier League title four times, they have never defended it once, so this is a good chance for the current Gunners squad to make history.
Mikel Arteta’s men should be confident in their chances of winning the title again, as they are not only the favourites, but they are also the team with the most stability going into the new season.
They have a favourable opening day fixture against a newly promoted side, coming into the clash in fine form after beating Manchester City 3-0 in last weekend’s Community Shield Clash.
Arsenal are expected to win this game, but Coventry will be eager to make it a difficult game, at least. Frank Lampard’s men won the Championship last season but have been tipped to go down immediately.
However, the Sky Blues will be eager to prove their doubters wrong by putting on a show in the first game of the season against the champions. Although it is not games like this that will determine Coventry’s fate, they can send a warning to the rest of their relegation rivals by giving a strong performance.
Lampard’s men are the massive underdogs, though, priced at 16.00 to cause an upset. In fairness, it is hard to see anything other than an Arsenal win, which is what we are predicting.
In addition, we also fancy a lot of goals in this one, which is also why over 2.5 goals, priced at 1.55, is another pick we are choosing.
Our Pick: Man Utd win or Over 2.5 Goals
Hull City’s first game back in the Premier League for the first time since the 2016/2017 season is a home clash against Manchester United in a Saturday lunchtime kick-off. The Tigers secured promotion last season after beating Middlesbrough in the playoff final.
However, while that was impressive, it is now time for Sergej Jakirovic's men to compete with the big boys, and there is no better game to test their readiness than the one against the most successful team in the league.
Hull have made a couple of signings to help them navigate the Premier League challenge, but it remains to be seen if these players have the qualities to help the Tigers avoid relegation. They do come into this game on the back of a 0-0 draw with Nice, having won two and drawn two of their five pre-season friendlies.
The challenge for Hull, though, in this clash is that Man Utd have always had their number in recent meetings. The Red Devils have only lost three of their last 18 meetings against the Tigers and come into this game as the favourites.
United had a strong second half of the campaign last season, leading many to tip them to challenge for the title this season. However, if they are to challenge for the league title, Michael Carrick’s men will need to do better than their last performance.
The Red Devils come into their opener on the back of a 4-2 defeat against AC Milan, having beaten Rosenborg, Atletico Madrid, Leeds United and drawn with PSG.
While the defeat to Milan could be seen as a blip, United cannot afford to repeat the same performance in the league, especially against teams they are expected to beat. The Red Devils are favoured at 1.37 to win the game, as per odds from Housebets, and that is what we expect.
However, if you are unsure about United’s ability, you can back over 2.5 goals, which is priced at 1.65, as per odds from Housebets.
Our Pick: Marseille to win either half
Olympique Marseille open this season’s Ligue 1 campaign with a home clash against Strasbourg at Stade Vélodrome on Friday night. Marseille will be looking to improve on their position from last season after finishing fifth in the league.
While a league title may be out of reach even before a ball is kicked, Marseille will be looking to secure Champions League qualification this season. However, with about five teams fighting for the top three automatic spots, Marseille cannot afford to start poorly.
Also, Bruno Génésio, who was appointed as the club’s manager this summer, will be eager to start on a winning note, especially in front of their home fans. Although there will be tension, Marseille are unbeaten in their last five games at home and are also unbeaten in their last five Ligue 1 openers.
However, they are in for a tough game against a Strasbourg side that also has a new manager in Hugo Oliveira. Oliveira replaced Gary O’Neil this summer and will be looking to make a big first impression.
The good news for him is that Strasbourg are unbeaten in their last seven games away from home in all competitions and are unbeaten in their last four trips to the Velodrome. However, they have also not won a league game at the same venue since 1997.
Le Racing will definitely go into the clash feeling they have a chance, but Marseille are favourites to win the game, priced at 1.72 for the win, according to odds from Housebets.
This is actually a difficult game to call, but we fancy Marseille to at least win either half, which is priced at 1.40.
Our Pick: 12 Double Chance
Real Betis open their LaLiga campaign with a clash against Real Sociedad at Estadio de La Cartuja on Friday night. Betis finished fifth last season, which earned them Champions League qualification.
Although El Glorioso will be looking to improve on that fifth-place finish, they will probably need to punch above their weight to do that. Manuel Pellegrini’s men have brought in Facundo Bernal, Fran Garcia and Diego Conde to aid their cause, but they also need to hit the ground running early.
Betis have enjoyed recent success against Sociedad, but they played 2-2 when they met at Estadio de La Cartuja last season. However, that was the only point Sociedad have taken in their last three games against Betis.
La Real finished in a disappointing tenth last season, although they did qualify for the Europa League after winning the Copa del Rey. However, Pellegrino Matarazzo's men’s objective will be to improve on their tenth-place finish, even though they have not made a new signing this summer.
Sociedad are priced at 3.60 to win the clash, while Betis are valued at 2.08 to get the win. This is a difficult match to call, though, so we are going for anybody to win, valued at 1.30 or over 1.5 goals at 1.28.

Our Pick: Inter Win or Over 1.5 goals
Inter Milan start their title defence with a home clash against Monza at San Siro on Saturday evening. Inter won the league convincingly last season and are primed to win it again this year, but will need to send a warning to the rest of the league with a strong performance on opening day.
The Nerazzurri have made additions like Djed Spence, Curtis Jones and John Stones to ensure that is the case. Christian Chivu’s men will go into this match knowing they are strong at home after winning 14 of their 19 league home games last season.
However, Inter will not be too overconfident knowing Monza are capable of springing a surprise after earning a rare win at San Siro in 2023. It will be a huge upset if Monza repeat the trick, but Paolo Bianco’s men will be keen to give it a go after gaining promotion last season.
The odds are stacked against The Biancorossi, though, as they are priced at 13.00 to win the game, while Inter are priced at 1.21 to get a routine win, which is what we are backing.
